Activist Mānuka Oil is the only 100% pure essential oil we carry. Our entire team adores Activist’s Manuka honey — it’s the first thing we all reach for when we feel a cold coming on — and given our love of all things Activist, we were thrilled to learn that they were creating a Manuka Oil.

This essential oil is 100% pure, wildcrafted, and distilled from the leaves and twigs of the New Zealand Mānuka Tree — the same source of the Activist honey. Activist’s founders, Gabrielle and Luke, used this oil themselves before adding it to their line of products: given its powerful antibacterial properties their outdoorsy lifestyle, it was a staple in their medicine cabinet to disinfect and treat minor cuts and abrasions. 

Gabrielle also loves spiking her skincare with it, either blending a drop or two into a Manuka honey face mask, or adding a drop or two to a face oil and applying that to freshly washed skin. Check out her special face mask recipe here.

Since this antibacterial oil helps soothe inflammation, too, it’s an excellent acne spot treatment; just be mindful of its strength and always mix it with a carrier oil. (Manuka Oil is 30 times more potent than tea tree oil!) 

You can also add this beautiful oil to a diffuser or your favorite household cleaning products, because among myriad other reasons, you’ll love it for its scent: an herbal, fresh, green, clean, spicy, medicinal aroma that is just perfect — and perfectly relaxing.
