The broad-spectrum workhorse sunscreen you’ve probably been hoping for / 1.7 oz & 2.6 oz
Colorescience Total Protection No-Show Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 is the sheer, easy-to-wear, somewhat-sporty, untinted sunscreen that most of you, we suspect, are looking for.
It’s pretty amazing, actually. Its lightweight, milky texture doesn’t feel greasy, heavy, or sticky; it rubs in and sets almost invisibly; it’s hydrating yet non-comedogenic and oil-free; it’s water-resistant up to 40 minutes; and it’s not only very protective against both UVB (SPF 50) and UVA (PA++++, the highest rating possible), but also against blue light, pollution, and infrared radiation.
You might try it and think, “No WAY, this has to be nano zinc oxide,” but thankfully, it’s not. Colorescience very tightly controls their particle size of zinc oxide, which is small but decidedly non-nano-sized. They also use a patented coating for it that not only ensures uniform particle size and dispersion, but also decreases its photoreactivity and results in a 65% decrease in free radical formation from UV and pollution. (Bonus: it also gives the antioxidants in the formula a Marvel-like boost.)
The formula also includes super-hydrating silver ear mushroom extract; a combination of super-antioxidant tara tannins with organic sunflower sprouts that helps protect skin from the effects of infrared radiation; soothing bisabolol; and a powerful antioxidant called Lipochroman that fights free radicals created by pollution and other environmental aggressors.
When it became the one that Dara’s family packed on every trip because every family member would use it without complaints, we knew we had to have it at Ayla.
