As its creator, Boris Oak, explained to Dara in this interview, “For the most part, people aren’t applying conditioner to the scalp or roots, so this formula isn’t intended to deliver scalp benefits. Instead, it’s geared towards helping to prevent breakage of both the new hair and older hair so that it’s as strong and as healthy as possible.”

Like all of Evolvh’s conditioners, it feels beautifully lightweight, with a focus on delivering nutrients into the hair instead of just coating the hair, though Boris notes, “I think it might be even more effective than our other conditioners overall in terms of moisture and hair-strenghtening.” It’s likely due to a combination of power ingredients, including strengthening creatine and Ceramide NG, shine-boosting castor oil esters, and a clean and sustainable alternative to silicones, Citropol, that reduces frizz up to 58%. (It works: Dara used it for the first time on a foggy evening in SF and was amazed at the frizz protection.)
