M Picaut Cocooning Rich Lip Treatment is one of those products that surprised us when it first appeared (“Oh! A lip gloss from M Picaut?”), but once we tried it, we understood. It is exactly what this beautiful lineup of Swedish skincare needed next.

M Picaut is our go-to when you’re looking for a product that’s deeply nourishing, but not greasy; packed with tried and true ingredients, with surprising ones sprinkled in (in this case, they had us at “Seaweed of Happiness”); and, perhaps above all, feel utterly beautiful. We’d be hard pressed to point out products more cosmetically elegant than these.

Here’s what makes this vegan formula stand out, in our view:

1. Its texture, which is indeed both cocooning and rich, isn’t like that of a typical gloss. It feels substantial, and if you struggle with dry lips, you’ll love the combination of color, shine, and rich nourishment, which softens lips beautifully. (Those who might classify themselves as “more mature,” in particular, will ask, “Where has this been all my life?”)

2. Its shades, which are gorgeously subtle, provide just the right boost of color without making it look like you’re obviously wearing lip gloss. If you can’t decide, it wouldn’t be crazy to get both: Burgundy for the moments when you need a little brightening, Nude for the moments when you just need a bit of extra, natural-looking oomph.

3. Its shine, which is also beautifully subtle. There are no flecks of disco glitter; you won’t feel as though your lips look strangely wet or overly glossy.

It’s a winner, and we’re so glad M Picaut surprised us with this gem of a product.
