MDSolarSciences Mineral Moisture Defense SPF 50 for Body took 2 years to develop, apparently, and you can tell: this formula is pretty perfect. We’d expect nothing less from this wonderful company, which is helmed by a dermatologic oncologist and Clinical Professor at the NYU School of Medicine.

Like the other MDSolarSciences sunscreens, Mineral Moisture Defense provides stellar and very water resistant sun protection, thanks to a combination of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. But this particular product also includes humectants and ceramides to replenish and protect skin’s natural moisture barrier and enhance spreadability, which makes it easier to use on larger areas of skin.

Its broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection is enhanced with antioxidants from vitamins C & E as well as cranberry, green tea, and pomegranate extracts. And, like the other MDSolarSciences sunscreens we carry, it’s oil-free, fragrance-free, non-irritating, non-comedogenic, and gentle enough to use on kids 6 months of age and older. (If you have kids, you really need to stock up on this winner: it rubs right in with no whiteness, even on the squirmiest bodies, and you can use it from head to toe. Plus, it’s water-resistant up to 80 minutes — a major bonus since it’s next to impossible to get little ones to reapply sunscreen.)
